On Saturday June 17th, 2017 our President and COO, Teri Williams, was joined by Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin and President of the Trayvon Martin Foundation, and Melina Abdullah, one of the founding members of Black Lives Matter to discuss how economic and social justice are intertwined.
Planned originally in celebration of Juneteenth, this event took on an additional dimension as it was held a day after the verdict in the Philandro Castile murder case was released, sending shockwaves of emotion through the Black community.
Watch along as these inspirational women discuss the current social climate in the Black community and how each of us can get involved to continue to make a change with our actions and our dollars.
