The Black Crypto League

The black crypt league logo with coins on top of a laptop.

It’s time we built our own league, a space where we can recoup the generations of wealth lost to the hands of slavery, Jim Crow, unequal housing, and many more factors. We are building revolutionary ways of existing and excelling, from claiming our #OneTransaction to restoring Black Wall Street. The Black Financial Revolution is here!

Who is a part of this movement?

This isn’t your ordinary ambition, it’s a collective of Black crypto leaders featuring (but not limited to):

Deidra Ramsey McIntyre, Co-Founder Of Black People & Cryptocurrency, founder of the advocacy platform for #BlackExcellence in crypto, Bitcoin, and other forms of blockchain technology. Her organization also teaches the basics of decentralized technologies, and how they relate to AI (artificial intelligence), IoT (internet of things), and centralized technology.

Isaiah Jackson, Author of Bitcoin & Black America, discusses in his work how to practically maneuver and leverage these new digital landscapes to garner wealth for our community, outside economies that have traditionally locked us out. Talk about #BlackGenius!

Cleve Mesidor, Founder, National Policy Network Of Women Of Color In Blockchain, in all her #BlackGirlMagic reminds the industry that it must lead with diversity and inclusion as part of its growth. Women are entering the space at increasing rates, so make way!

These thought leaders address the inequity in access to financial instruments for our community and how to build our own #BlackWealth independent of the system.

Ok… so what do all those terms I hear mean?

What could be a melinated utopia, with the potential to unshackle our economic might ($1 to 1.5 trillion worth of potential a year), starts with understanding the basics. Like building blocks, we can start to understand these disruptive technologies and why they are essential to our RISE!

Here are the tools we need to navigate:

Blockchain Technology is the foundation of all crypto currencies. It is essentially a database, a list of immutable records linked by cryptography. This structure makes it hard to change, hack, or cheat the system.

Crypto Currencies are based on blockchain technology – an alternative to fiat, or government issued currency, and difficult to counterfeit or double-spend. Popular crypto currencies include Ethereum, Litecoin, and Dogecoin.

Bitcoin is crypto currency that is often referenced for its market size, but also its volatility, and its cultural capital. It’s credited with inspiring the launch of hundreds of other currencies, collectively referred to as alt-coins.

Crypto Exchanges are businesses that allow customers to trade cryptocurrencies for other assets, such as fiat or digital currencies. Binance, Coinbase and Bisq are some of the most popular.

Hot Wallets are the most convenient but less secure, existing as mobile wallets, desktop wallets, web wallets, all accessible from our everyday devices, but be very careful.

Cold Wallets are more secure, essentially offline, and difficult to hack. They are typically hardware wallets that look like a medium sized USB stick.

What are those NFT things though?

Great question! These are essential to the conversation around ownership for our community. You can simply check out our recent blog article where we tell you all about them here.

Wow! Thanks. How do we join this league?

Isaiah Jackson, says in his book Black America and Bitcoin that, “The ability for Black-owned businesses to grow is how we got Black Wall Street and how we got Rosewood. We were able to flourish as a middle class because the currency was not controlled, and we were not held to the standard that we have to use the dollar.”

We have been locked out of traditional economies, designed without us and our success in mind. However, we can grow, and we will, on our own terms in our own economies. The Black Crypto League (alt: Our future) resides in the New Black Wall Street which we believe is on the horizon with our community joining the movement to #BankBlack and #BuyBlack. We can take simple steps to understand these new tools and unite in #Solidarity to #BuildBlack!
